"PTown Umbrella" 2010 | Soft Pastel on Wallis Museum Archival Paper | Size = 8" X 8"

The ocean invites endless hours of contemplation.  I am lucky that my daily commute to work is on the water.  A short kayak paddle takes me past boats moored out in Provincetown harbor and past Macmillan Wharf and its' fishing fleet.  If I get up early, I have some time along the way to observe, photograph and perhaps make a quick sketch.

And I work on the water. Daily, I observe the ebb and flow of the sea.  And as a daily painter I try to capture that gentle, hypnotic sense of calm that I feel during my reflective time on the water.
