This monotype rooster is, as all monotypes are, one-of-a-kind. The otherness of birds in general intrigues me and “otherness” is a basis for many of the forms I like to pursue in paintings and prints. This particular image of a rooster evokes a fierceness that contradicts the lyricism of the print.
