Queens, New York-based photographer Theresa Edmonds' lens is often focused on the ironic tragedies of life in suburban New York City.

This photograph, a self-portrait of the young artist in a vacation setting in New Hampshire, is an image filled with longing, and a sense of reverance for something unseen. This mysterious feeling surrounding her subject is one of the hallmarks of Edmonds' compelling camera work.

Edmonds earned her BA in photography from New York's School of Visual Arts, and in 2009 received her Masters' from The Center for Creative Photography/Bard University.  She is also a gifted filmmaker and her still photographs capture a sense of cinematic story telling.
