"Daphne" 2008 | Watercolor & Black Ink on Paper | Size = 9" X 12"

This is a watercolor on Arches Artist paper painted with high quality Winsor & Newton paints. I added also black india ink. The paint has a green border 1-1/4" wide green border that allows to frame this paint without using matte.

This botanical paint reproduces one my favourite flowers the "Daphne odora -Aureo marginata", the contrast between the dark foliage and the white, pink and purple flowers is softened by the blur effects given by the use of the wet colors splatted on dry paper.
