*UPDATED*

6.17.10

Welcome to 140hours, the world's first online art auction that lets you bid on and purchase international artworks, all from your Twitter® account with complete mobility, security and convenience.

Our goal is to ensure that you have a secure, fast and fun experience when you visit us on the World Wide Web from your home PC or Mac, your handheld smartphone, or any other mobile or wireless device anywhere in the world, day or night! Since Twitter is now available on every mobile device including iPhone, Blackberry, Android, iPad and other smartphones you may buy fine artworks from any location, totally convenient, fast and easy!

We have set up a few simple guidelines for placing your bids to purchase fine artsworks via your Twitter account, and we’re sure this will be the best online shopping experience you have ever had.

OK, let’s get started!

    1. To participate in the 140hours online auction, you must register for and use your Twitter account. Twitter, the global social network, allows you to securely place your order with us for as many artworks as you wish to purchase during a live auction event.
    2. The Twitter account you use to place your bids MUST be your own account. It must be verified by you, and it must be in good standing with Twitter and the Twitter community at all times. Any use of borrowed, unauthorized or fraudulent Twitter accounts with our online Virtual Art Gallery Auction System (VAGAS®) will immediately invalidate all pending purchases. If you do not have a Twitter account, you may sign up online for your FREE account at https://twitter.com/signup.
    3. You must have a valid PayPal account to pay for all artworks you purchase through 140hours online art auction. Much like a bank, PayPal’s online payment system allows you to easily access your credit card or bank account to fund your purchases with 140hours. If you do not have a PayPal account, you may sign up online at http://www.paypal.com. Normally registration takes just a few minutes. Once your account is set up, you may place your bids in our 140hours art auction. As long as your PayPal account is in the process of being set up, your bids may be entered into our art auction system.  So, go ahead and bid right now!
    4. BEFORE you place any bids in our art auction system, MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE you wish to purchase the item at the price you are bidding! This is important, as bids MAY NOT BE RETRACTED FOR ANY REASON. Your bid in our auction event is the same as a personal guarantee. It is a verbal and binding contract with us, and with the artist from whom you are purchasing artworks, that you will complete the transaction on a timely basis if you win the auction.

    5. Once you have logged into your Twitter account, follow our Twitter account: @140hours. You must follow this account. If you don’t, we will not be able to “return follow” you and you will not be able to send us direct messages containing your bidding information. THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.To place your bids in our auction event, send a Twitter Direct Message (“DM”) to @140hours. Each and every bid message must include all the following information: 140 Hours of Fame Official Item Number (shown on each artwork page), Bid Amount in $USD, Your Full Legal Name, Your Home or Cell Phone Number and Your Personal Email Address.

Here’s how a TWEETBID message for 140 Hours of Fame item number 123 should look:

Your secret bids comes directly to us and are NEVER shared or disclosed to any third party. We post the highest current bid on each artwork periodically throughout the day on the 140hours website: 140hours.com, but we never disclose the identities of the bidders or ANY OTHER PRIVATE INFORMATION. NOTE: All information you send to 140hours through Twitter shall be held in strictest confidence. We guarantee that your personal information will NEVER be shared with any third party. Twitter Direct Messages (DM) are like emails sent directly to our secure 140hours email account. These messages are not posted publicly on Twitter, nor are they available to anyone viewing the 140 Hours of Fame website or following @140hours on Twitter. Your privacy and your security are our first priority at 140hours, we guarantee it.

If you win the auction for any artwork(s), we will notify you via email immediately at the close of the auction and provide you with additional instructions for completing your purchase(s). We will coordinate on your behalf with the artist to arrange for shipping of your purchased artwork.

You, the purchaser, are responsible for ALL SHIPPING COSTS as determined by FEDEX, United Parcel Service (UPS), or other carrier, from the artist's studio to your home, office or other destination of your choice. The artist is responsible for packaging and protecting your purchased artwork for transit.
      • If you win the auction for artwork(s) in our event, upon confirmation of the shipping costs as determined by FEDEX, UPS or other carrier, we will email you a PAYPAL MONEY REQUEST. The money request is an electronic invoice specifying estimated time of arrival of your purchase(s), along with the exact shipping cost and the winning bid amount. The sum of these two figures will comprise your TOTAL AMOUNT DUE. You must pay the TOTAL AMOUNT DUE to us via PayPal within 15 days of your receipt of the PayPal money request. The money request will include exact instructions on how to complete your payment via PayPal.
      • Once your payment is cleared by PayPal, we will authorize the artist to send your shipment. In the continental United States, unless your artwork purchased is very large, you should probably receive it within about a week.
      • In order to protect your investment and your precious capital, we will certify that the artwork you purchased IS IN TRANSIT TO YOU before any monies are released to the artist.
