Rick Reinert | Charleston, South Carolina USA

Rick Reinert was born in 1955 in Logansport, Indiana.

Rick Reinert’s formal art training which took place at Western Kentucky University in the 1970’s gave way to independent study resulting in one-man shows in Germany and Canada in the 1980’s and featured large, expressionistic works.  Renewing a commitment to painting a number of years ago has resulted in a passion for expressing light and shadow in nature and surroundings, striving for purity in color and brushstroke.

Reinert has developed a unique and distinctive style through constant independent study and trial, predominately painting “plein air”.

Recently, his “Ships of the Heartland” was a top 100 winner in the 2008 “Paint America” competition and he was chosen as a featured artist in the Gadsden Museum of Art Southeastern Plein Air Festival at Gadsden, Alabama.

His work was selected for the 2008 “Oil Painters of America” National Exhibition, held in Missoula, Montana and he is a associate member of that organization and the American Impressionist Society.

In October, Reinert will be featured for the third time in “American Art Collector”  magazine and he was the subject of a cover story in “Sunshine Artist” in February, 2009.
He has won best of show, people’s choice and first place awards for his art and his work hangs in museums as well as private and corporate collections in most U.S. states,
Europe, Canada, South America and Asia.
