Mary Koster | Millers, Maryland USA
I'm a graphic artist who has always had a love and passion for photography. Growing up on the east coast in Maryland, I've had an SLR in my hands since I was a teenager and have not stopped taking photos since a very young age, although I have no real formal training. I tend to favor animals and nature in my photography because those are the things I most enjoy and am fascinated by. I'm happiest out in nature and communing with other living things or wildlife. It's thrilling to me to find a spontaneous situation for a great photograph from nature at any given moment. I also specialize in candid photographs of friends and family showcasing those that are an important part of my life. I'm often the one behind the camera, instead of the one in the photographs, but I recently finished a self-portrait-a-day project for a year which was a great journey of self-exploration allowing me to become more comfortable in front of the camera and with myself. I am looking forward to portrait studies for my next project, including pet portraits, as well as continuing with nature and wildlife photography.
My dream is to study photography professionally as my next career path beyond my years creating Graphic Design pieces. I also have a dream of taking pet photography to a more serious level and have started to work with animal shelters to meet this goal.
