Jessie Smith-Larson | Chicago, Illinois USA

Jessie Smith-Larson was born in Panama and raised in Miami. She graduated from the University of Central Florida and furthered her studies at the Miami AD School for Advertising and Design. Since that time, Jessie moved to Chicago where has worked the past 11 years an art director.

She likes to experiment with an array of materials such as encaustic, found objects, metal and clay. Some of these works are interactive and invite the participation of the viewer. Her work is represented in private and corporate collections including Terry’s Toffee, Energy BBDO, Burrell Communications, Cutters and S2 Post Production. 

Jessie is also active in many public art projects including Cool Globes and the “Hopes and Dreams” tile mural at the CTA Rapid Transit at Roosevelt and State Streets. Committed to the community, she volunteers her artistic skills for many charitable projects, notably the Chicago Public Art Group, Hubbard Street Mural Revival, For the Love in Chocolate in Chicago and Kids Saving the Rainforest in Costa Rica.
